SUMMER COURSE DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, UIUC
With support from the U.S. Department of Education's Title VI Program, the Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies is offering a course development grant of $2500 (as summer salary). The grant must be utilized to develop a new course within the area of Middle Eastern Studies. Courses should demonstrably fill essential needs that are now unmet by established curriculum, may offer new interdisciplinary perspectives, and must be envisioned as permanent additions to UIUC undergraduate curriculum.
Title VI specifies that courses must be focused on Middle East area content. Courses on Middle Eastern populations/themes in other regions of the world are not eligible.
As stated in our Title VI Proposal, preference will be given to proposals for interdisciplinary courses and proposals from the professional schools.
One proposal will be funded for 2008.
All fulltime, non-visiting faculty on the UIUC campus are eligible to apply
